Why your storefront order doesn't match Ouiteo

What to check when the collection looks sorted in the app but not on your live store.

Written by David Farrington

If a collection looks correctly sorted inside Ouiteo but your live storefront shows a different order, it's usually one of the points below.

1. The collection's sort order must be "Manual"

Ouiteo controls product position by setting the collection's sort order to Manual in Shopify, then arranging the products. The app sets this automatically every time it sorts. If Shopify rejected that change, your theme falls back to its own order. Open the collection in your Shopify admin, confirm the sort order is Manual, then run Sort Now again.

2. A sort was skipped because something else was running

Shopify only allows one bulk operation on your store at a time. If a large sync or another app's bulk action was running when Ouiteo tried to apply the order, the reorder is skipped. Wait a few minutes and run Sort Now again.

3. Your theme is re-sorting or filtering the page

Some themes apply their own sorting or filtering on collection pages (for example a "Sort by" dropdown, or filters/search that re-rank results). When a shopper or the theme applies one of these, it overrides the manual order. Check your theme's collection template and any filtering app to make sure they aren't forcing a sort.

4. Give it a few minutes (and clear caches)

After a successful sort, changes can take a few minutes to appear, and your theme or a CDN may cache the old order. Refresh the page (or view it in a private window) after a short wait.

5. Data may be slightly behind

Ouiteo sorts using the latest product and order data it has synced from your store. If you've just made big changes (added products, restocked, imported), let the next sync run so the app is working from current data, then sort again.
